Uncollected Orders policy

we keep all uncollected jobs for a reasonable period of time but we cannot store uncollected and unpaid work indefinitely

Orders not paid for and not collected:  We try to contact customers with the contact information supplied to us at time of ordering, this is why we ask for your telephone number and address if you wish to give them, but if we are unable to contact you or we have not heard from you three months after the agreed collection date we may have to sell or dispose of the item(s) to cover the outstanding framing bill and (at our discretion) storage at £1 plus VAT per week per item.

Pre-paid orders not collected: Normally we can keep these for twelve months. Unfortunately we cannot keep items, particularly large frames stored on the premises indefinitely. If we are unable to contact you or we have not heard from you for 12 months after the agreed collection date we may have to sell or dispose of the item(s) to cover the storage costs and (at our discretion) other costs incurred.

Terms above apply to retail transactions and are subject to UK Consumer law. Further free advice is available to consumers via trading standards or citizens advice unless you are a business-to-business customer, in which case please note that different terms apply under UK law to business-to-business transactions and are covered by different UK legislation. If you have been given a “trade” discount or special terms and you have booked work with us to re-sell the finished items or make other use of them in the course of a business, the transaction is probably defined in law as a “business to business” transaction - please see below:

Trade orders not collected and not paid for: we keep all uncollected jobs for a reasonable period of time but we cannot store uncollected and unpaid work indefinitely, particularly trade orders which have been discounted or given special terms.

We try to contact customers with the contact information supplied to us at time of ordering, but if we are unable to contact you or we have not heard from you three months after the agreed collection date we may have to sell or dispose of the item(s) to cover the outstanding framing bill and (at our discretion) storage and costs.

Any discounts given are on the understanding that jobs are collected and paid for within 30 days, after 60 days discounts will no longer apply and we charge £1 plus VAT per week for each item of completed work stored for you.

If we cannot get in touch or you have not got in touch with us for 90 days we reserve the right to sell or otherwise dispose of the items to recover any costs owed. Customer still remains liable for any outstanding costs if items sold do not cover the outstanding account.

Pre-Paid Trade orders not collected: After 60 days we charge £1 plus VAT per week for each item of completed work stored for you. We reserve the right to sell or otherwise dispose of items to recover storage costs after a reasonable period of time. We cannot store any trade items for you longer than one year, after 12 months they are sold or otherwise disposed of for sale in the shop window or at auction. Any surplus funds will be returned to the trade customer, less storage costs and other costs (eg auction fees) on request. Customer still remains liable for any outstanding costs if items sold do not cover the outstanding account.

General notes:

we do undertake not to dispose lightly of items such as family photographs, pet photos etc. These are usually removed from the frames and stored whenever possible. This is at our discretion.

We do not extend this discretionary service to “commercial” items (limited edition or open edition prints, pictures, commercial paintings, posters, other photos, autographed items, ephemera etc.) or to trade customers.

Storing uncollected orders and unpaid orders costs us overheads in premises, insurance etc. In the case of unpaid orders it has already cost us in wages, national insurance, staff time and costs in taking the order, and paid for materials and we do reasonably expect to be paid for the work we have done and not left out of pocket.
